Senior Dance Instructor
He/ThemVik Mudge (he/they) is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor originally from Niagara and currently based in Hamilton, Ontario. Vik began dancing at the age of 7 and quickly developed a passion for performance, with a particular love for Tap and Hip Hop. After training competitively in a variety of styles, Vik expanded their experience by training with a Hip Hop crew and exploring acting and musical theatre through the Theatre Aquarius Training School.
While attending Sheridan College for Visual and Media Arts, Vik continued pursuing dance and theatre opportunities, balancing school with stage management contracts and teaching community dance classes. After graduating in 2020, Vik returned fully to the dance world and began teaching both competitive and recreational dancers in Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, and Musical Theatre.
Since then, Vik has become an award-winning instructor and choreographer across studios in Niagara and Hamilton, recognized for their unique choreographic style, culture-based approach to technique, and compassionate teaching philosophy. Vik is currently completing their Teaching Certification through International Dance Teaching Standards and has pursued additional professional development and mentorship with Contemporary Dance artist Sid Ryan Eilers.
Outside of the studio, Vik works alongside multidisciplinary artist Skye Rogers as part of the community-focused dance theatre collective retrograde: dance in motion. Together, they create accessible workshops and collaborative performance experiences that connect dance with community and creative exploration.
Vik’s wide range of artistic experience creates a classroom environment where dancers are encouraged to grow both technically and creatively. Their classes focus on building confidence, teamwork, individuality, and a genuine love of movement.
