SDL Week 4 | Ballet
Originally from Ancaster, Maya Fazzari received her training at Canada’s National Ballet School, where she completed both the professional ballet program and the school’s post-graduate program. During her post-graduate studies, she performed as a Guest Artist with the National Ballet of Canada, gaining valuable professional stage experience and appearing in works such as Symphony in C, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker.
She joined Orlando Ballet 2023 and is currently in her third season as a professional artist with the company. Her repertoire includes the Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker, Pas de Trois and Cygnets in Swan Lake, and Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, alongside performances in Romeo and Juliet and Giselle, and works by Martha Graham, Kenneth Tindall, and George Balanchine.
In addition to her career on stage, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where her studies in cognition, neuroscience, and childhood psychology inform and deepen her understanding of movement and expression.
During Week 4 on July 27th, Maya will lead dancers through a Ballet Technique & Repertoire workshop focused on artistry, musicality, classical technique, and performance quality.
