Elise Gilchrist

Elise Gilchrist has been dancing since she was 15 months old, starting in the Dance with Me class with her mom at Not Just Another Dance Studio in 2012.

Elise has trained in various styles of dance including tap, acro, open, jazz, pointe and ballet with her favourites being tap and acro. Elise joined the competitive dance team when she was 6 years old and loves being on stage and sharing her love of dance with an audience. Elise began assisting at the studio in 2022 and has assisted styles such as ballet and tap.

She enjoys working with the younger dancers and is a positive role model bringing passion, dedication, and joy to each class that she assists. Whether it’s helping perfect a move or encouraging a shy dancer to come out of their shell, Elise is committed to fostering an environment that helps every student reach their full potential.

Elise had her first tap solo in 2022-2023 and was very happy when she placed 3rd overall for tap. Elise’s confidence has continued to grow and her commitment to continuous improvement earned her 2023-2024 tap solo a place in the Inspire Nationals.

Outside of the studio Elise also enjoys horseback riding and recently joined the show team at her barn, taking favourite horse to the Hamilton Hunt Club to compete in the Hunter cross-rails ring!
