SDL Week 3 | Jazz
She/HerCassandra is an Alberta-based dance artist and educator from Stoney Creek, Ontario. After earning her BFA Honours in Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University, she attended DJD’s Professional Training Program. Heading into her eighth season with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, she has toured across North America with the company, performing at venues including Jacob’s Pillow, the National Arts Centre, and the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur. Recently, Cassandra performed in The Shape She Takes as part of Strata & Co’s inaugural show. Cassandra strives to connect to artists, students and audiences through authenticity and openness. She is committed to providing students with knowledge to equip their craft development and health longevity.
During Week 3 on July 20th, Cassandra will lead dancers through a Jazz Technique & Foundations class followed by a dynamic combo class, focusing on movement quality, artistry, emotional connection, and performance.
