It’s the time of year I both dread and love, planning our Elite Team placements for next season.
It is a time of creativity for our staff; new themes, new story lines, new entertaining routines.
The down side? Every parent wants their child to be the best that they can be, and I understand that. However, many parents think that this means they need to “dance up” with dancers older than them.
The reality that experienced Instructors know? Dancers need to experience a variety of opportunities to grow and thrive, sometimes they will be the youngest on the team and learn from those older than them, sometimes they will be the oldest on the team and they will be a role model for other dancers to look up to and learn from. Both roles are vitally important.
