Tuition Pricing listed for classes is Equal Monthly Billing payments pre-tax. Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month September through June. Students starting mid-season will be charged pro-rated monthly tuition in the month they start classes. Recital fees are billed for dance students on July 1/17 (or at time of enrollment if registering after that date). Creative Kids will be billed a $20.00 Registration Fee at time of enrollment. Students registering for summer session (July or August) will be billed tuition at time of registration to hold their spot.

Students will have a parent or guardian participate in the class with them (Mom, Dad, Grandparent etc. are welcome! We ask that only one caregiver per student attend class). An introduction to the basics of dance allowing students to develop their musicality. This program is designed to enhance motor skills, creativity and build social skills. In this class children will be moving to music, listening to stories, singing nursery rhymes and socializing during creative play. This class prepares the child for Creative Movement for Tots class where they are independent of their parent. ATTIRE: Students and caregiver should wear comfortable fitting clothing or dancewear.
Students participate in this class on their own. This is a transitional class, and the instructor may invite you into class if the child is upset. The ultimate goal of this class is to have students actively participating on their own. An introduction to the basics of dance allowing students to develop their musicality. This program continues to enhance motor skills, creativity and build social skills. In this class children will be moving to music, performing creative movement, acting out nursery rhymes and learning beginner dance steps for the foundations of dance. This class prepares the child for the Pre-Dance class where they are independent of their parent. (For students that are not ready to be participating on their own, we recommend the Dance with Me class).
A unique program blending Ballet, Jazz and an innovative Creative Movement/Drama program. Movement, rhythm and improvisation are introduced in a lively manner, which encourages an interest in dance. The class also promotes co-ordination and physical fitness through practicing large loco-motor activities such as skipping, galloping, hopping, running etc.
Learn the five positions of the feet and exercises such as pliés, tendues and sautés. Body awareness, technical training and coordination are stressed throughout the class. Students will develop strength, flexibility and an awareness of correct alignment, while being exposed to music from classics such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. Lyrical dance has a poetic, expressive quality. This class challenges students to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. Barre work will be completed during warm-up for these Ballet/Lyrical classes.
Students are introduced to rhythm and coordination through jazz dance steps, while developing their sense of musicality. Energetic and upbeat jazz dance is combined with funky fast movements. Combinations are taught to current pop culture favourites that are age appropriate for each level.
Not sure which form of dance is right for your child? Try this energetic class that combines Ballet and Jazz, so that students are exposed to both art forms. This class is considered a "recreational" class, students wishing to take a structured ballet class that includes barre work should register for our Ballet/Lyrical classes.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
Students develop a sense of rhythm, coordination and timing. Shuffle, ball change and stomp your way through a fun class that combines rhythm, sound and movement. Tap shoes are required for all tap classes.
Students will enjoy exploring Musical Theatre in this performance-based class. The class will build self-esteem and stress the importance of teamwork within an acting/dance class setting. Improvisation, drama exercises, dance and script work will be explored. This class is ideal for students interested in expressing themselves through acting, singing and dancing.
An urban style of Hip Hop. It's a mix of isolated and fluid body movements and is quite performance oriented. There are elements of popping, locking and breaking. Free-Styling and tricks will also be incorporated. View a sample video of our Hip Hop/Street dance class.
Learn to unite body and breath through yoga. Classes integrate traditional yoga poses, flowing sequences, group and partner play, deep relaxation and meditation techniques. Students will learn yoga postures, breathing techniques and proper alignment while improving physical strength, self-confidence and emotional balance. Please bring your own Yoga mat. All levels of yogis' are welcome, including beginners. Pose variations will be taught to challenge all levels of the mind, body and spirit.

Acro is the combination of gymnastics and jazz movement. This program teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline & concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers and balance.
A workout class that combines ballet, pilates/yoga, strength and flexibility training using the barre. Are you ready to sweat and be the best YOU that you can be? No experience needed.
YOU CAN DO IT! Looking to get in better shape for the new year? This 45-minute class will improve your strength, flexibility and toning. No experience needed. Sessions run for 4 weeks.
This program focuses on learning through play. Classes incorporate songs, movement and dance, while learning letters, numbers and a variety of cognitive skills through fun activities. Children further develop their social skills with peers. An excellent program to prepare children for entry to school. Participants must be potty trained or in pull ups with some level of toileting skills. Parents to provide a nut free snack. There is a 5% Discount for registering for both days!
This program focuses on learning through play, and takes learning from our Creative Kids program to the next level. Classes incorporate songs, movement and dance, while learning letters, numbers and a variety of cognitive skills through fun activities. Children further develop their social skills with peers. Our Fantastic and Fun Dance Camps will keep your child active and entertained! We offer March Break and Summer Camps in a variety of exciting themes.
We offer both Private and Semi-Private lessons for those wishing to improve their technique over the summer. Schedule permitting we will offer privates during the full dance season (September through June). Please contact the studio for more information.
We offer our students performance opportunities during the dance season to work on their performance skills, and increase their self-confidence.
You are invited to attend our Parent Viewing Week the last week of the Fall Session before our Christmas Break to watch your child performing their Christmas dance routine. Costumes are not provided (Students wear their normal dance wear, and may dress festively i.e. wear red skirt, a santa hat or antlers etc.). In lieu of tickets, non-perishable food is collected for The Hamilton Dream Centre Food Bank.
The Annual Recital is held at the end of the Spring Session, and allows students to show off their new skills for family and friends. Performing on stage will be a magical experience for your child, and is eagerly anticipated by our students. We typically do a production instead of the basic dance recital. We performed Cinderella in 2013, Alice in Wonderland in 2014 and The Wizard of Oz in 2017. The recital fee (payable per class registered in) is payable when a child enrols at NJADS to secure their spot in a class. The recital fees are as follows:
What does the Recital Fee cover? We offer a recital package for the cost of our Recital Fee. This package includes the student's costume (to keep), two tickets to the performance, a 5x7 class picture, a cerftificate and a flower. The fee also covers the cost of administrative fees such as hall rental, technician and instructor fees, decorations etc.
Students must be registered for the full dance season to participate in the annual recital. Although we allow students to register per session, these students are not elligible to participate in the annual recital.
Our Creative Movement for Tots, Pre-Dance and Pre-Acro classes have their own mini year end recital. This keeps the performance stress free for our little dancers, and the show usually runs for only approximately 30 minutes.
Our Dance with Me students will do an in studio performance (instead of performing onstage). This will ease our youngest dancers into performing for parents only, in a comfortable atmosphere that they are used to. They will still receive a costume, and everything else included in the recital package.
We also provide additional opportunities for our dancers to perform in our community, at local retirement homes, festivals etc.
